I have created a new Work In Progress album for my sculptures and added the photos I took for Untitled Alabaster #14 as I was working. The quality of the work-in-progress photos isn't the same as the initial photos and the photos of the completed sculpture because I used my camera phone for the shots. It was much more convenient, and I was less concerned about getting dust in my cell phone than in my camera.
What I found to be amazing as I was documenting the sculpture is that I spent nearly 60 hours on the sculpture, and it went from 47lbs to 7lbs. At least, that's according to what I have in my database. It somehow doesn't seem right, but I do know I removed more stone when completing this sculpture than I ever have before. Looking at the before and after pictures alone, I can see how much work has been done. It's certainly much lighter than Untitled Alabaster #4. It's also interesting to see how much my aesthetic has and hasn't changed after almost 10 sculptures.
